What I really do like about Resident Evil 6 over 5 is that the AI of your companion is way better than it was in 5. You can play with a buddying sitting next to you or with someone online. Like Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6 also has co-op gameplay. It plays just like a standard 3rd person shooter and to be fair, it does what it does quite well. Without a doubt, Resident Evil 6 is all about action. To be fair to this game I feel that some people hated this game and do hate it without even playing it. The gameplay is where Resident Evil 6 is either going to win you over or not. I am really impressed with how Capcom managed to make the four different campaigns have a different feel. The game has some great set pieces and these all happen in very different kinds of locations. There is a lot of diversity in terms of the enemy designs and I think that does help keep things fresh, especially considering you will be mowing down tons of enemies in this game.Īnother thing that I like about Resident Evil 6 is the different locations that the story takes you to. The different kind of enemies and creatures that the game throws your way are really cool looking. I do not care what anyone says, Resident Evil 6 is a great looking game. Like in Resident Evil 5, each character has a supporting character. Leon, Chris, and Ada all have their own story along with a new character Jake who is the son of Wesker. They all do connect and there are some fun crossover moments too. You actually have four different campaigns to play through in Resident Evil 6. The Storyīy the time Resident Evil 6 came along, Capcom had made the story rather hard to follow and there was that many strains of virus I am not sure we needed yet another one, The C-Virus! I see Resident Evil 6 as a culmination of everything that came before it and to be fair, in that regard the story does succeed in closing things off. It may not be for everyone, but Resident Evil 6 is a better game than people give it credit for.

Resident Evil 4 took a more action stance, Resident Evil kicked that up a notch and then Resident Evil 6 here took the series as far as it could go down the action route. When you look back at Resident Evil 6 it is really inevitable the way the game turned out.

These were there for you to upgrade your character and while I appreciate the idea and get what they were going for I do feel that it felt a little out of place in a Resident Evil game. One other thing that was new to Resident Evil 6 was the way the game would throw skill points at you. Both Resident Evil 4 and 5 sold phenomenally well so it was no surprise that Capcom decided to kick things up a notch for this game. Yet you can clearly see the level of progression from Resident Evil 4 to what would become Resident Evil 6. Yes, it is nothing like those older classic games. Some people absolutely hated this! I for one though think that the game doe splay very well. You can now run and shoot at the same time, you can roll, slide and in general, the core gameplay is very similar to other 3rd person action shooters of the day. The series had been getting more and more about action rather than survival horror and this game is the apex of that. Resident Evil 6 took the action to a whole new level. The multiplayer is every bit as good as it was in Resident Evil 5, if not even better! Seriously if you can get a friend to play through this with you, you guys are in for one heck of a great time. However, they do give you the option to play it with just the one character if you want and that is my preferred way of doing things. The AI is not super dumb and you will not find yourself cursing at them every five minutes. Thankfully, Resident Evil 6 has made some great improvements in this regard. The AI in Resident Evil 5 was not very good. This does help to keep things fresh and I think it was very ambitious of Capcom to do this. Each character actually has their own feel and abilities. Resident Evil 6 does not just have four different people to play as from a story point of view. Leon, Chris, Ada, and a new character called Jake who is Wesker’s son! Each character is joined by an accompanying character just like Resident Evil 5 with Chris and Sheva.
Seriously I cannot overstate the huge effort that putting this campaign together must have been.Įach campaign has a main character. The game has four different campaigns that are all interconnected in a very clever way. The story is set all over the world and it is basically centered around a new virus which is called the C-Virus.
